The Vukovar-Srijem County Development Agency participated in the Round Table in Podgorica: Cross-border cooperation to improve the position of children and youth with developmental disabilities
The development agency of the Vukovar-Srijem County participated in the round table “Cross-border cooperation to improve the position of children and youth with disabilities” , within the HEARTS project – Healthcare Equity and Access for Resilient Targeted Support , which is implemented through Cross-border cooperation program Interreg IPA Croatia – Bosnia and Herzegovina – Montenegro 2021 – 2027, held in Podgorica, together with partners from Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro.
The event brought together experts from the social welfare system, healthcare, education and civil society organizations, and the goal of the meeting was to exchange experiences, present examples of good practice and strengthen cross-border cooperation.
On this occasion, RA VSŽ presented its role in launching socially responsible projects, emphasizing that project initiatives enable the improvement of the availability of local services and provide better support to children and youth with developmental disabilities. Special attention is paid to projects that contribute to better quality early intervention, involving parents and creating a support network for children and youth with developmental disabilities.
Representatives of the Center for Community Service Provision of the Vukovar-Srijem County presented a model of interdepartmental cooperation in early intervention, while the Health Center with the Žepče inpatient clinic emphasized the importance of timely diagnostics and professional support for users. The Žepče Development Agency doo presented its contribution to securing financial resources for local projects, while the Association of Parents of Children with Developmental Disabilities Podgorica drew the attention of those present to the importance of active involvement of parents in improving the support system.
